Egg Shaped Bathtub from Mastella - Vov Italian bathtub design

The Vov, an Italian bath by Mastella, is a gorgeous, egg-shaped creation. The smooth organic form is available in pristine white, and can also be delicately shaded inside, in the pastel colors of spring. You can choose from violet, light blue or gentle pink, or none at all, should you prefer to focus solely on the pleasing form. Cascading chains fall from a runner mounted on the ceiling up above the bathtub for an optional touch of glamour. The sparkling silver chains bring dramatic flair to the simple bathtub. A family company led by Antonio Mastella, along with his wife Daniela and two daughters brings us this bathtub with its intriguing combination of form and function. Check it out at Mastella

Eight:48 Magazine - It's a publication

Eight:48 Magazine have currently released issue 6 of the 8 being published. It's a neat mag, especially since it hasn't been designed too over the top. It works and it works well so check it out here

We say good bye to Steve Jobs - Technological Brilliance behind a cultural trend.

Steven Paul 'Steve' Jobs, Apple co-founder and former CEO, a cultural icon who masterfully invented and branded slim sleek everyday technology and shaped ideologies behind modern gadgetry. Apple released a brief statement "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,'' and "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.'' I know this is a design blog, but Job's had a significant impact in the Design and Creative Industry, so it's sad to see a cultural icon and legend go.

Telecom New Concept Store in Victoria St, Auckland

When good Retail Designers work with great Advertising Agencies, the new Telecom store in Victoria St is a great example of what can be accomplished. Gascoigne Associates teamed up with Designworks too create a concept store with high-tech features, with convivial approachability in a space that oozes colour, variety and character. They aimed to create a 'playfully eclectic space' and one that has 'clean, crisp elements' to express the high-end technology that's on offer. When stumbling upon this, the environment behaved more like a social area rather than a store. You weren't scared off by the rows of cashiers or numbered isles, it was cool, funky and function. It felt like a local Uni bar rather than a overwhelming and unappealing retail store. Check out the Telecom Victoria St.
